Bob vs blinky

So Bob is susposed to be a deadly melee dude, so what about the level 4? Isn't he susposed to be a melee monster too? What are the pros and cons of level 1 and level 4 when compared to each other?

The lvl1 isnt a deadly melee dude (although they can all fight fairly well up close (except possibly the level2)), the lvl1 is basically a scout.
Its fast but with little health and while it can do alot of damage its main uses are for scouting. When it needs to kill something its most surefire way of doing it is to xenocide.
of course, Im not a PT'er so I could be wrong and Im sure some one will explain it more accurately soon but I know this is close enough and answers your question.

Actually, the level1 is a deadly killer. If the marine's arent careful, a single level 1 could take down a group of 4 marines.

The level 4 has a ranged attack, and isn't really a melee class - but if he gets close enough to you, his claw attack does a HELL of a lot of damage.

Yes, and with three hives, I actually prefer to play the level 4 as melee. My personal preference is to aim at the ceiling above a group of marines, blink to it so that I am right above them, than drop down amidst them slashing. Recently, I have fallen in love with Xenocide, however, so I haven't done that lately. The lvl 4's acid rocket is extremely deadly and you can use it wiht only 1 hive, as long as you were already a lvl4 when the 2nd hive died.
Lvl1: Light, fast, extremely maneuverable. Hard to hit, able to run circles around the enemy, capable of ambushing even without cloaking, able to play with his food (parasite). heh heh heh
Lvl4: Reasonably fast, though slow in comparison to the other alien classes. Deadly but slow missile attack. Strikes Fear in the heart of the enemy. IS much more resilient than the lvl1. Capable of skillfull blinking that is deadly in the right hands (blink, slash, run. Lather rinse repeat).
