    <a href='http://www.jasc.com/products/paintshoppro/' target='_blank'>Paint Shop Pro</a> - I bought 7.0 a while back, but there is a free trial download you could use.

Or there's <a href='http://www.gimp.org/' target='_blank'>GIMP</a> which is a highly competant, and most of all, free image manipulation program.

I don't understand why people want to manipulate their ingame images. Any specific reasons? Apart from making them look better which i don't think is very honest.

Changing gamma, size, making insets, drawing lines and arrows, adding text.

All can be done with MSpaint, of course, but paint usually looks kind of crappy. I use photoshop myself. I've heard good things about GIMP and Paint Shop Pro though. (Though I'd recommend GIMP simply because then you have a full program for free.)

It's not just free, it's Free!

There's meant to be a <a href='http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/' target='_blank'>friendly, easily-installed version for Windows here</a>. Haven't tried it on Windows myself, but I've been using The Gimp on Linux since 1997 or so. It's my favourite program. Ever. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

If you need any advice on its use, just ask here.

how in the world do you clear this mess up in psp, Cagey? Well at least I got them to post <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

by the way the light levels are way off what it should look like, but how does the structure look?

Good start, try using some more textures and making the architecture more realistic. I like how you have a bit of light coming from the blue wires, gives a nice effect.

Shift+B when the image window is selected will pop up brightness/contrast adjustment with a preview window.

Shift-G when the image window is selected will pop up gamma correction, which can help with duplicating the effect of env_gamma.

Both tools are under the Colors menu.

    ---------------------------------

Since it's gotten a few mentions, I should say that Gimp is a solid choice once your trial runs out for PSP if you don't want to pay for a retail package.
