Steam And Config Files

DOes anyone know how to exec custom cfg files in STEAM? i have config files for each class (marine, skulk, gorge.....) but they will not exec in NS under STEAM. the files are there but they don't seem to exec.

HELP?

I was wondering this too and also how does one go about using custom maps/sounds/models they found after the ns.gft file (or whatever it was called) gets created?

GCF files hold the models, sprites and sounds, in the past there have been a number of people who have hacked the GCF file for cs 1.6 to get the models out.
