    ...I dunno if its me or its you...but why will uninstalling HL do anything?

    This program does not need HL, it only needs its cd-key....

    I have no idea what is wrong then, it finds where your half life is installed after that and converts all your files, it looks like its missing files but if you've downloaded it a few times then it must be something with your computer. Tyr the steam forums they might have some answers.
