I had to fix my mother board with aluminium foil and other miscellaneous materials

Don't use aluminum foil.

STEAM works (albeit buggy and not easily installed) with NS. you have to do it manually yourself, and you have to look for steam enabled NS servers. Not too fun. deal with it right now. Don't download steam and keep on playing on WON server auth until its dies (which more than likely will not be until October from numerous news systems I've heard on it)
I can almost guarantee Flay has stuff ready for NS + Steam (some late night chats with him have led me to this conclusion). So leave him alone about it. It is been taken account for. So stop making multiple pointless topics concerning steam. Or if you must do so do it in the Off-Topic forum.
Steam will not die, yes it got off to a bad start, but it's here to stay (no matter some inter-web petition some disgruntled web-users have started), think of it as a bigger version of its beta-testing phase that was unedrway for quite some time (beleive me steam was much MUCH worse a few months ago) there are still a few bugs, but Valve will get the taken care of and steam will be the #1 best friend to mod-builders. give it a rest already tho.
thanks.
If so and If they nix WON wouldent that basicly make all HL and HL2 mods pay to play?
In addition, NS2.1 is still under development, regardless of Steam's release.
