Possible Hitbox/map Problem?

<div class="IPBDescription">Dealing with marines vs ladders</div>
Kinda like the title says. I was a marine on Hera and we welded through the marine start to Cargo. Well eventually a big onos decided to stomp its way in through the top portion. Well I climbed the ladder where my head was half sticking up and starting shooting relentlessly at it. Finally he turned on me and was only able to impale me once. I took half damaged, climbed a little bit down the ladder but was still able to shoot. His gore was not able to get me nor was stomp, however from the look of things it should have killed me. Is this just a hitbox issue, map issue, or me being to damn picky issue?

This seems to happen a lot with most ladders, im not sure if it is to do with the hitboxes.

If you notice a skulk also has a hard time killing a marine on a ladder as well. At least they used to. I know that was a hitbox issue in 1.0x I don't know if that was fixed or not though. But think about it for a sec, you're on the ladder onos is above you trying to hit you. It's having to hit you at the hitbox's smallest point, hitboxes aren't square, they rectangles. They have smaller sides making them harder to hit in some directions, that's the way a human body is built too, harder to hit from the sides, top and below then dead on or from behind.

Then if this is true would you consider it cheating/exploit? Or would this just be a downfall of gestating into such a large alien who is taking the high road to attack the marines?

Since one good skulk could take the rine out I personally don't see it as to much of a problem....

probably a hit box problem, but shouldn't be too much of a problem unless you had a gren or something

As for skulks having difficulties, I usually attack from the rear, and never had any problems <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
