Its a serverside variable. default its off (wider field of view).

field of view for skulks gorges and lerks is wider, onos field or view is smaller.
only on openGL as I know.

That's not new, it's been there since 2.0. And I've yet to figure out what it means, although I'm beginning to suspect that it prevents the view from being "jarred" when you're bitten or fall a long distance, since I can't remember when it's done that last...

it forces the default fov for each class.

skulk and gorge is now >90 and onos is <90

otherwise they will all be 90

I think he needs an explanation of what fov is ;)

field of vision: The size of the cone of vision displayed on your screen, in degrees.

At fov 90 you can see 45 degrees either side of the point you're aiming at. With a higher fov you see more, and a lower fov you see less.

Low fovs give you a zoomed view, as you'll see used for sniper scopes etc. Higher fovs appear to pull your view back slightly, and allow you to see more of the world infront of you.

Wide FOVs (greater than 90) give you what is known as "walleye-vision". This is common to repressed pilots and most chuckling quadriped.

    FOV is Field of Vision.
