'reliable Channel Overflowed'

(screeny included)</div> Okay, so, I FINALLY got NS working on Steamiteh, and whenever I try to join any servers it boots me out within 5 seconds and gives me the message of "Reliable channel overflowed". I think I might have figured out a fix for this little bug, not shure if it will work with everyone, so please give me a responce to it if it dont work for you. Load up your game in steam and type in your console ' fps_modem 30 '. That should help you from getting kicked off from the server. If not, please let me know what it did for ya.

Didn't work. NS went from 100 fps to 29 making it retardedly slow and then it crashed. :| maybe i should set it higher?

Make shure that your fps_max is set at 100 and then try it at 30 if it dont work, go lower on your fps_modem. That might work for ya a little better.

I found that setting my rates up increased the length of time (from about 2 seconds to about 6), what does fps_modem do (sorry im downloading dod atm, so I cant test it)?

Alright guys I got it to work it had absolutely nothing to do with fps_modem fps_max.
In the C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\(email)\Half-Life\NS\ folder create a file called 'userconfig.cfg'. In this type : alias "ex_errordistance" "" I'm pretty sure thats it.

After much agony, I was able to get NS to run. And do you know what makes it run, about 30 lock ups followed by 60 reboots. Then it works.

I gleaned that off of the DOD forums. Just keep plugging at it and poof it will start working.

Steam is a POS.

Thank you! finally got NS with steam to work by setting fps_modem (even though I'm on a 10mb/s pipe) to 50 (higher and I get kicked). I hope flayra (or may be a mistake on valves part) fixes this bug in the next version. I want to play in 100fps **** :-)
