not really, but I am wondering...
Is it possible two make a readyroom like thingy in one file and the map in another and when its finished, cut and paste them into one big map file?
I'd try it myself, but I can't get it to load

    it is.
some mappers build each room as seperate file for lightning then paste them together fixing leaks for some weeks.

    grouping is nice.

Certainly, just use the selection marquee to select what you want, hit ctrl+c, and then ctrl+v it into whichever map you want to add it to.

Just remember, when using the "copy and paste" method of building rooms, that you include an env_gamma in each map file! It sucks when you spend a while tweaking the lighting in a room only to realize you forgot the env_gamma...

You can also achieve a similar effect using the Cordon tool to select specific sections to compile. Whether or not this has drawbacks, I'm not sure, but using Cordoning *does* make it a lot easier to tell where rooms are supposed to fit together and such, without long compile times.
