Let's make the arrangements now!
I've read other threads and it seems like a lot of people are complaining about what they think will happen on public servers. I was also thinking that I've gotten to 'know' a lot of people here, and it would be cool to play against all of you in a game of NS once it is released.
I suggest that we arrange to setup an NS server, and password it. We'll put the password in the forums here, or just have a thread where people ask for the password, and someone PS's them with it.
So, I need to know who would like to play NS with other forum regulars, and who would be able to host the server. Let's hear it!

Oh, wait, that wasnt a very helpful comment. Lets see what I can come up with. Yes, I agree to this, it would be nice to play with people I know, and hence the reason for both EC and certain IRC arrangements.
However, I also feel that just limiting the 'vets' to specific servers will split the community, and as such I think it is all of our duty to play on publics and help the new players. NS teamplay will not go downhill if we all help out to teach and look after new members.
Heh im up for it, just PM me whenever it is we do it and ill be there for sure.
Fam, I don't really have time for a squad, but would love to have a game with people here every now and again. I look forward to beating PT's. ;P
I think we will all need to try to lead the public servers, once it gets popular. Speaking of which, I need to remember to use this bit of goodness:
bind p "say RTFM! RTFM! R-T-F-M!!!!
I'm from Israel.. and I know my pings to the US range from 200~ to 500~
Can you give me any details now? Is it a dedicated server? What connection is it running on? Physical location, IP address?
I've usually got 300 - 500 to the testserver, but still can play with barely any lag. If there's one thing that went right from day one of the PTs, it's surely the netcode.
Location: Sheffield, Massachussetts, USA.
OS: SOL (Server Optimized Linux).
Dedicated?: yes.
Ip: sorry, not yet, but in early september (the 7th or 8th probably). You will be able to get it by pinging debaser.berkshireschool.org , and I'll list it too.
A T1 in a high school should do nicely, especially on evenings and weekends.
hehe.
I may be able to get a box up for cable game,s probably no more that 6 people w/o lag, but thats enough for some quick games I guess.
Still I'd like to be a part of all this.
A friendly and cooparating community will be a good community, and for a great game, we'd want a great community.
Take the FLF community for example, it might be a tad small now, tho but it's a really good community where most players know eachothers.
Playing with people you know, will enchance both gameplay and teamplay greatly.
But yeah, it ould be pretty pathetic. I'll see how much I can push it when it comes out, but I cant see any more than 10 players, even with the dedicated machine.
