<div class="IPBDescription">This is not a flame post.</div> My fello clan member de-complied steam and found the suspected spyware to be bogus, also he found that they did a really **** jump coding it as it don't clear memory space before use.

I can't find out if they gonna come to ns with steam coz won will be non-excistent in a few wks.

I haven't read the end-user license, but I'm pretty sure decompiling it is pretty much illegal(if he did it at all). If he did he would publish it and that's even more illegal. But who cares if valve is spywaring they're doing something illegal too.

A) There is no spyware in Steam. It allocates a cache file but does not clear the actual dataspace from what was previously stored there to save time. Hex-editing this garbage file showed some of that existing data, leading people to believe it was collecting information about their machine. They were wrong.

B) Decompiling it IS illegal. Standard boilerplate EULA.

C) We already have many, many Steam threads in Off-Topic, where they belong if anywhere on the NS forums. Steam is not NS, though NS does ride on it. General Discussion is for discussion regarding NS. Please go to the Steam forums to discuss Steam.

D) NS integration with Steam is being worked on. At the moment, Steamed NS works with a few minor visual errors, which do not impact gameplay (Kharaa control menu text is garbled visually, for example). These should be corrected before too long (likely in the next Client Update, though I cannot say for certain as I do not have access to it as of yet).
