The text should provide old timers here a (massive) clue as to where the level takes place. Besides shining up ns_nothing and whole-heartedly applying myself to a SP episode (NW), this... will be taking up quite a bit of my forthcoming spare time.

Actually, the focus was on the level, not my lack of Photoshop (PhotoImpact, rather) skills. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Please bear in mind that the reason I posted up a souped up one in the first place is because this is -very- early. I really should have waited until I had more complete and eh... finished stuff here before posting, but I was just really excited that I finally got some stuff done on the level... and needed to share that excitement somehow. Anyway, the picture attatched picture is what that scene was derived from. It's lacking in the lighting, detail, and well... completeness departments.
WOW, dude, that is VERY IMPRESSIVE!
neat stuff
everybody has its own ways to map.... and very own styles.... its hard to make maps that look very different from each other..... coz after u make a big map.... the architecture and the "ways" of making that map are still inside ur brain... and u make a new map.... and after a while, u look at one map and looks like the new one, this also happens when u like a lot a map..... u tend to use the same architecture and stuff....
...considering nothing is an amazing map? You are correct, nothing blows my mind. I just assumed that you would not want two maps that look like clones of eachother.
Concerning it looking like SSN. I hope so! At least in some ways. I'm aiming for a mix between the heavier areas in nothing and the mechanical bast visuals in this one (and to my delight, I was told it looked just like that by someone else).
Texturing is actually completely different. Most of what is on the walls there is an elevator texture, with a few misc door textures thrown in. Besides the blackwall series, the main textures in ns_nothing were two door textures which are used sparsely here. Perhaps it's just the wall supports that give it that Nothing feel. I suppose the lighting too. I'm taking a totally different approach to the lighting this time around, but I am suprised at how similar it does come out looking to SSN. I still can't decide if that's a good or bad thing. Similar (looking) lighting styles that is.
We'll see...
