screw you republicans and democrats
Like I said, the arguments of Republicans and Democrats over this abortion issue are silly, immature, and totally f---ing stupid. Here is a proposed solution to the delicate issue:
Since SO many people insist abortion is murder, and SO many insist it isn't, and since we can't appease EITHER group without resorting to force someone else's values on you. (either way, utilirianism is utilized, a ethical system (greatest good for greatest number of people for the greatest happiness)
Proposal: Any woman who wishes to have an abortion must successfully argue her case on why she believes a fetus is not a human being before a philosophical judge. This 'court decision' must take place solely between the judge and the woman in question, and no third parties are allowed to be involved. If the judge believes the woman has argued it successfully, he will give her a legal document that says "_______ may have an abortion." Abortions done without this document are illegal and subject to heavy fining and jail time.
Yay, now everyone's happy. (I think)

All it depends on is the Judge, if he's liberal, then he will let anything slide as the moral ground.
Besides, anything releating to moral issues should be done in front of a priest, not a judge.
But this is a terribly unfair system. You will get uneducated, young girls who don't know the word fetus, much less its philosophical implications. Whatever.
There is a system in place now and it's not going anywhere (hopefully) that should be the end of this thread, and beore anyone makes another reply they should go read 14 pages of the other thread and see that the point they were about to make has been brought up at least 10 times.
News flash: Morality just isn't religious. I'm not going to argue though. Start a new thread if you want to argue that.
But wait... that's right. They don't have to worry about having a parasite lodge in the wall of their bladder (to draw a parallel), and grow larger and larger there over the course of nine months, in a number of cases quite painfully, causing nutrient deficiencies and organ stress. Only at the end of which would they have to worry about something the (equivalent) size of a 'shooter' marble forcing its way out through their urethra.
The fact of the matter is, without religion enforcing what is 'right' and 'wrong' through completely arbitrary means, it'd be quite simple to pick apart the arguments against abortion. The problem inherent is that there is to be a seperation of church and state. So church laws do not apply, nor would enforcement of same fall to one (in the case of needing to argue it to a priest). In fact, that would be strictly illegal, as it would begin to federalize a given religion.
As far as I am concerned, children are parasites. I am quite set in my opinion that everyone should have a choice to remove a parasite from their body, especially if it would have a long-lasting detriment to the host and society in general (anti-overpopulation... just imagine if the SUV driver ahead of you in traffic had been aborted). Perhaps this is selfish of me, but I also hold the opinion that we should get rid of 'child safety' measures, and let all the particularly STUPID kids kill themselves off early. It *is* natural selection, after all.
Go Talesin! Babies sux0r, they s**t everywhere, they have no brains, and it takes years before they become interesting children. That, and the 9 months with a parasite.
Yet again an uninformed single sentance from you as a response.
Do you have any idea how much abortions cost? Even ignoring the psycholical aspect of going through the process, saying people use abortion as a contraceptive is just outright dumb.
To Talesin: "children are parasites"... Was that the choice of words you actually intended? Probably being a politically correct ****, but most pro-abortionists DON'T consider a fetus a living thing. Looks like birth in general is something you abhor, even if the woman WANTED a child.
Why are children stupid? Well, let's examine our species shall we? Unlike insects or reptiles, we are not species brought up by instinct. We learn from our parents. Now I'm thinking maybe the children have failed because... *gasp* THE PARENTS ARE STUPID AND FAILED, THINKING THAT THEIR KIDS COULD BE PROPERLY BROUGHT UP WATCHING SESAME STREET.
Age has nothing to do with it; even the stupid ones can go on living. Take pigeons for example...
With this kind of mentality, we should rejoice in the killings in Iraq and events like 9/11. Hey, it's not much, but we manage to make small contributions in our global fight against over-population, eh? And odds are, most that die possess average or sub-average intelligence. Sure, we have to sacrifice some of the smart ones now and then, but it's for the good of the Earth!
For more of your own encouraging wisdom, Maddox puts in his 2 cents... Or how about we ship them off to Tranquility Bay?
Let's start outlawing stupidity. You can start by stoning me for prcrastinating Calculus studies for writing this ****.
Whoops, almost got to flip off the switch...
/sarcasmatron? off
Because someone is young and pregnant doesn't mean they and the child should have to suffer because society won't let her abort and then wait until she is ready.
Coming from a single-child household, i've come to view families larger then 3 kids like they are trying to destroy the world...which they are.
