"infestation" Textures

<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone got a better technique?</div> I'm trying to make some new "infestation" textures for the map that I'm making, but I can't seem to make them come out quite right. The edges of where the infestation ends and the now-transparant colour begins is very obvious, and it makes it just generally look bad.

Anybody have a good technique for doing this? Or want to do it for me?

Air brushing on solid infestation in several steps, using a smaller airbrush with increasing opacity and density for each step.

I'll make some infestation for you, no probelm, you can find my e-mail address on NS World, to send me the textures you want infested.

I have those original lightinfest and heavyinfest overlays in .psd format if you want them. You can just slap em on in photoshop and they tile and everything if you are using a 256x256 texture. I can't remember where I got them, but it may well have been chrome angel or some other nice poster...

edit: they tile, but they don't tile exceptionally well so if you don't make 2048 units long corridors with a flat wall textured with the stuff it shouldn't be too obvious that it is reapeating.
