Curiosity..
Just curious as to what sens everyone uses. I find that I need a much higher sens in NS than say, CS. In CS I use about 3.0, but in NS I use 4.8 (to aid quick rotation for tracking skulks).
for cs I use about 1.5-1.7. or just enough that u can turn completely around by moving the mouse from 1 edge of the mouse pad to the other.
for ns I use 2.2
just wondering, whats with all the super high sensitivities? I mean, in cs its really hard for me to line up my sights for a hs if the sensitivity is at like 10 cause the way mouse skips sometimes
Just so noone is mislead, exchanging mouse sensitivity settings is absolutely MEANINGLESS. A 1.3 using a certain mouse on a certain computer can be 10 times faster than a 9.4 with a different mouse on a different computer.
What people SHOULD be comparing is rotation you can get by only moving your hand IE keeping wrist stationary on the mousepad. That is a measurement that actually MEANS something across different computers and mice.
I have no idea what my sensitivity settings are, but I can pull a 270° turn in either direction without changing the position of my wrist.
yeah its a multiplication on the windows mouse speed, and acceleration too. so long as you can turn 180 fast enough without picking up and putting down your hand, its good for you.
i have very fast windows mouse settings because of my large screen resolution, it has a lot of real estate to cover, and in NS i use 18.70 sensitivity, i can whip that shotgun around faster than a skulk's teeth can close.
i had mouse acceleration on in some windows setting and it made it really hard to play until i disabled it and then my sensitivity was like twice as high as usual so i halved it in the game but then the menu was still too sensitive but then later it was ok so i could increase my game sensitivity again. it was weird. i didn't know windows mouse settings could screw around with the way your mouse behaves in a game. i bet many people are doing crappily in the game because they don't know how to change those stupid windows settings.
Just changing my drivers made me have to more than double my in-game sensitivity (in every game) to have the same rotation speed. This is with the exact same windows mouse settings.
I think I usually go around 10-12. I like being able to turn, see what's behind me, and turn back to my initial position without having to lift/drop my mouse a bunch of times. My accuracy suffers for it, though. :|
Moving my mouse exactly 1 inch horizontally results in a 360º turn. I use this as a guide for all my games, since different game engines have different speeds for their mouse values. In HL, sens is set to 9.
i like my acceleration settings, if i move the mouse slowly then the screen moves very slowly, but if i move it fast, then it goes faster. so one inch on desktop could be anywhere fom 45 degrees ingame to 360.
I have my mouse on default in windows, and then maxed out on the scaler in NS. I hate having to lift my hand to turn around. I have about 5 inches of space for my mouse (cluttered desk), and a slide across that turns me about 2 times. It's mainly for space saving. IO don't know though, I'm a really good sniper in firearms, and my sensitivity is the same as in NS. I think it's just personal adjustment.
I've only had trouble aiming with high sensitivity when I'm trying to use a ball mouse; the things like to skip and stick. My optical mouse on the other hand lets me do 180s in a centimeter and still have excellent aim. *pets his optical mouse*

12 in NS, at 1600x1200x32. May have to raise it a bit more in the future, see if that'll help with bouncy Marine 'loss'.
9 in FireArms, just so I can be completely evil with my SSG3000.. though I *still* want my FA2.5 M82 back. You know.. the accurate one. That doesn't completely suck.

i think it's hardwired into my brain now, since playing UT with an equivalent setting for years beforehand and then RTCW
I personally use 3/4 the way to Fastest in windows, and 7 sens in NS with mouse accel in game and out turned off (obviously)
"These numbers mean nothing without knowing someones mouse speed in windows."
Really? I didn't know that.

8/11 for CS
1.9 in cs, 3 in ns.
You can set m_yaw or m_pitch to different values for different horisontal and vertical senstivity or to negative numbers for inverted mouse (urgh!)
this way i can have fast reactions and accuracy.
