Yes, but still, Half-Life is Mature. And making a mod with less gore than the game it's for (hey, that rhymes) won't change the rating.

People gib all the time in halflife, that is pretty gruesome, I mean there are parts of arms and legs and skulls lying around, I think a few removed limbs wouldn't suprise people. People act like in halflife everyone fights with pillows and pillow firing weapons.....

And I'm ####### tired of people who think 'kids' shouldn't play violent video games. I mean, 'kids' aren't as stupid as everyone in the whole damn world seems to think. We aren't as easily influenced either. I played the SOF 2 demo, with the gore hack. I was like "HOLY CRAP!! " the first time I saw it, but really, it gets old fast, and doesn't bother me. This is because I know it's a game, unlike some of the adults think that I think. So there, it doesn't matter, or something.

That works great for kids like you and me, KZ, but there are plenty more 'kids' out there that don't have the same vision of fiction and real-life. I like to call our group "Raised right" and the latter group "That boy/girl ain't right".

The problem is letting 8 year olds and other young kid play this stuff. By the time your a teen your past the time for easy changes to your personality and your beliefs

I doubt an 8 year old would have the intellect for properly playing a game like NS, but you're right, they'll be around...but I highly suspect they won't be around for long. They just wouldn't find it appealing because it's so complex.

I was pretty addicted to games at age 6 when Bubble Bobble came out for Nintendo, I racked in like 6 hours a day, now if that isn't complex I don't know what is. I forget what this has to do with the topic but its still worth saying.

My little brother likes to watch me play games, I like having him around. He is 8. I do not like having to kick him out the door and leave him unwatched while I kill some aliens, just because they have limbs that can fall off or overly long death sequences.

These people are the next generation, I do not want to see them growing up as vicious murderers or even morally slanted induividuals because of a game I chose to play. I can choose to ruin my own life, but I sure as hell dont want to see my family go the same way because a bunch of people thought it would be 'cool 2 hav libms taht fall of'.

Fam - I'm not suggesting we have limbs flying and heads exploding in the slightest bit. I'm glad NS is the way it is, because it doesn't NEED all that filler bullcrap. I don't know how you got the impression that I am FOR violence and gore, I was merely stating my opinion that I feel very young people will find it difficult to play NS.

Sure, some may be astoundingly resourceful and grasp the basics very well, but NS is a *very* complex game (as you well know) and it takes effort to get the most out of it. You can't just jump in and expect to be on your way straight away. On the marine team there's also the added question of how younguns will react to the commander. Will they follow orders? Will they know what orders are? Will they run off on their own to find something to shoot only to keep ending up alien-meat? I'm sorry, but I just don't see NS being enjoyable for people that young.

Although, this is something which I would love to be proven wrong on. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hamtoro is afraid of homosexual people? Seems like a serious topic for Cartoon Network to take on....Is hamtoro anime or is it cartoon?
