<div class="IPBDescription">Has it gone too far?</div> I'd like to send you to this, very funny site. You wont be bored and it does bring up a good point, somewhere deep in it's hilarious depths: Why does everything in the mainstream media or gaming industry containing even slight violence, get blamed for the Western Worlds problems?
<a href='http://www.seanbaby.com/news/col-lawsuit2.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.seanbaby.com/news/col-lawsuit2.htm</a> and here's another good one - <a href='http://www.seanbaby.com/news/nike.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.seanbaby.com/news/nike.htm</a> and finally this good one - <a href='http://www.seanbaby.com/news/jackass.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.seanbaby.com/news/jackass.htm</a> (warning: VERY bad language, don't go if your sensitive)
This guy gets **** off just like I do, it's crazy! All of this censorship, blaming the games and the T.V. shows for all the school shootings and people setting themselves on fire because they think they are the Anti-Christ, rising to take over the world.
I know somebody has something in their sig talking about this but the real problem in the world is stupid people. For all the great smart people of the world there are 1000 stupid people and it really gets annoying.
Your thoughts on this. Has it gone to far? Am I just wrong? Are there massive amounts of stupid people willing to set themselves on fire, or willing to believe that Joe Millionare and The Bachelor are real? Or maybe am I just the stupid person? Here's the link for all of the Seanbaby Probe's "stories". - <a href='http://www.seanbaby.com/news.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.seanbaby.com/news.htm</a>

Everyone starts a racket, gradually story fades. Now I find out (when I mentioned this in my legal class in YR12) that that fool lost it on appeal, and appearently its pretty common for that too happen. The law isnt clarified enough, the judge is forced to rule in favour of the jackass, then the High Court overturns it.
It all works out in the end fellas, they rarely get away with it.
That should end the frivelous lawsuits.
Our world is turning into a bunch of sissys.

The problem, though, is that people bringing up ludicrous lawsuits often win. The only surefire way to prevent more people suing left, right and centre is to lay down the law (excuse the pun) and simply throw out all cases of frivolity.
How is it that an armed robber can sue the innocent home/shop-owner if he is overpowered and suffers a grievous injury? Or the lady who (recently) sued a pub because she drank too much and crashed her car on the way home, injuring herself quite badly? I remember a case of the former where the robber won, nearly forcing the shop-owner to close down, and I know the latter was (fortunately) thrown out.
Another area of concern (especially to me, since I’m hellbent on a career in medicine) is professional indemnity when treatment goes wrong – there’s almost a perception throughout the general community that doctors are gods and that they can’t make mistakes...but they are human, they do make mistakes, and they shouldn’t be forced to pay outrageous amounts of insurance and be taken to court when they make a mistake here and there. Note that I’m not against suing doctors that truly are negligent, but “negligence” is a term that is applied too often, and for too much gain.
Amen. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Too many people thinking that sueing is just a get rich quick scheme. So now instead of people sueing a company for a legit reasons such as- A large box uncarefully suspended by a thin wire drops and crushes a mans leg, taking away his ability to walk.- We get these **** law suits like- Sueing McDonalds because they "made" you fat with their propaganda.... ****.
We all know, or all should know, that McDonalds is some of the most unhealthy food ever made. We all know that if you eat McDonalds breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you're going to become as fat as a cow. Yet another fact of life; and now because of this McDonalds is gonna turn they're already rubber like food into plastic with all of the new health ****. Hopefully this will sort itself out, hopefully we went have millions upon millions of stupid lawsuits every year but I just don't see this happening. The amount of them just keeps growing and growing. Who knows where it will end... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

While I kind of see your point, I just got assaulted at college last night while trying to buy drugs while half-drunk. Call me a sissy, but I'm pressing charges against the kid. Frankly, he should have been grateful I was trying to buy, and not said Shut the **** up to me, throwing me into a depressed mood where I repeatedly asked "dude why did you tell me to SUYF" until he punched me in the face to be cool :-\
I don't think violence is a good thing, with the exception of maybe as you said, a dead arm.

Ok there is something I want to know. How far does this stupid people thing spread? Is the US the only place with an extreme stupid person to non-stupid person ratio? Or is it a worldwide thing?
I don't think violence is a good thing, with the exception of maybe as you said, a dead arm. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Nah, you're not a sissy if you press charges. Only if you press charges for something so stupid you should have to pay restitution for even bringing it to the judges attention. Like shooting a guy and sueing him for getting blood on your 250$ shirt; that's what I would consider a sissy. God I hate stupid people....
Thank you.

lol I dont like your chances man.
Well you see your honour, I had been on the rum and coke half the night, and I decided that I could REALLY go for some weed right now. So I goes to this kid...
Eheheheh you're gonna have to admit that A) You were drunk in public and B)that you were attempting to by illegal drugs. (unless the drug isnt illegal where r u?)
If it was me, I wouldnt be pressing charges.
a) it was an example or
b) hes not gonna press charges
im kinda hopin for a
Now I reread it, it seems obvious that its an example...
Oh dear, never post when tired is a great rule of thumb to follow.
b/c a bunch of overweght people are suing McDonnalds for making them obese.
WHAT?!?
if this ever were to pass....
Im not obese, in fact you could say Im a little underweight. But other then that Im athletic and physically fit.
So why should I have to pay more for a bag of chips b/c some other person cant manage their own health.
States pay out hundreds of millions every year b/c people sue state employees or towns for tiny stupid things. NY shelled out something like $450 million in frivoless lawsuits last year for example.
Some woman backs her van into a pipe and puts a hole into her rear window b/c its too hard to look when you back up. Solution, sue the town.
As a tax apyer im fed up with seeing my tax money going into some moron's pockets instead of education or health care. <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Marine that's all unadmissable evidence, if it's a battery charge, which it would be in this case, or possibly assault and battery, the only thing that matters is proving the defendant did it. You could say you were smacked up on heroine, had 5 pounds of weed in your car, and had drank 4 bottles of liquor and all you would have to do is prove that you were assaulted without provokation and you would win the case.
The law handles one thing at a time so it doesn't get bogged down.
Also, people (specifically your average joe American) is lazy and doesn't want to work his arse off to earn millions. So they sue if they can.

Soon this wil be happening, mark my words. If the governments don't step in and stop this bullsh*t the courts will get filled with this! Thinking about it just makes me angrier. Some poor family with an injured kid may have to sue the guy who broke both of his legs, punctured his lung, cracked his ribs, and destroyed his liver but instead the judge gets some piece or crap lawsuit about a sexual harassment case that some greedy **** brought up against her boss. Ugg, when is this gonna stop?
remeber the sue mcdonalds becuase of the hot coffee?
that coffee was actually +200 degrees F, and it gave the woman sever burns, but the public didn't see that
they saw someone suing mcdonalds for hot coffee
BUT some lawsuits like the guy who falls thru a skylight breaking into your house and sues you is just no
use common sense, it's a pity that most people these days don't

Still, I mean come on. Can I sue a cleaning supply company if I drop some corrorsive bleach on my skin? I mean it's my fault; warnings are pasted all over these products and I didn't heed them. While that coffee is VERY hot, I think that the Caution: HOT COFFEE should be enough to warn this person to BE CAREFUL. I just think it's madness that because someone was an idiot and spilled their coffee on themselves that automatically allows them to sue...
