Switching Weapons

<div class="IPBDescription">hmm</div> I've been on the end of so many "Leap-Bites", but I can never do them...leap, then switch to bite as you reach the target. I've tried, but I'm like not quick enough or something. I feel that not being able to do this is really effecting my skulking abilities.

Has anyone got any tips...? Do people use quick change scripts or something? Now I think of it, is there a quick change I can bind anyways...?

I'm not exactly a new player, but this is something I've never got the hang of. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    There's nothing to it. You just need your weapon keys close together, and close to your movement keys. You also need hud_fastswitch 1 enabled. You shouldn't need a script to do it properly, it's not really that hard. It sounds like your config is the problem.

    it's been said that the second you switch from leap to bite you can attack, but the first bite's animation won't play... it still hits, you just don't see the anims. what can i say, it works for me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yeh hud_fastswitch 1 in console then u hit number one or switch weaps in mid air, it changes automaticly and u need one click to bite when u hit.

    Very powerful ability to learn. Oh yeh im used to just hitting number 2 for leap then number one when i need to bite. Does any one set a button to do the last used weapon instead?? Is it better than manually pressing the number u want??

    press 1 (bite), click
    press 2 (leap), click
    you now have leap active
    click to leap, and as soon as you're in the air hit q (or key bound to lastinv)

    helps when blinking as fade too:
    blink in - q - swipe - q - blink out

    Aha! Nice one <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I'll try that later - thx for the input guys. That'll help my blinking too - I never was very good as a fade lol.

    Or use the "last used weapons" key.

    Switch from Bite to Leap to Bite again. (Before going to battle)

    When you see a marine, leap press the last used weapon key.

    hud_fastswitch would make it alot easier

    I'll never understand why people use <span style='font-family:Courier'>lastinv</span> rather than <span style='font-family:Courier'>hud_fastswitch 1</span> but hey, whatever floats your boat.

    lastinv is sometimes buggy if you do it too quickly.

    eg sometimes i leap bite kill the guy switch back to leap to get out of there, all i do is use up energy similar to leap but nothing happens. Then i die :/

    alias nextwep "invnext;+attack;wait;-attack"
    alias prevwep "invprev;+attack;wait;-attack"

    As they said, the same tactic works well for a fade too.

    I do:
    bind mouse2 lastinv

    and for maximum leap-bite efficiency, try to get close to them before leaping (with their back exposed, hopefully <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->), and hold down forward like charge.

    hud_fastswitch ... I can't see why you would ever want it off, after you've learnt all the weapon names, that is.

    Well i'm using the hud fastswitch thing now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> And so far I've had some success lol. <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Tbh, I cant believe I've never had it on before...its such a waste of time without it, I think.
