You'll respawn as lvl 8 onos with your upgrades. And you don't level down.

This is what cl_pitchup and cl_pitchdown 9999 can do for you. The upside down thing is actually useless once you get used to it. However, lerk flight is just awesome. So much control, you can snap jpers out of the air.

I still love it, but nobody wants to play it thanks to Combat, heh. They're caught up in the awesomness and the quick games (.. sometimes. 50 min games suck.)
I'll try to snap some pics later tonight on an empty server. There are some great rooms in 2.1, the mappers should be very proud.

Pitchup normally is set so that you can almost look straight up. If you set cl_pitchup to something higher than it currently is(85 I think), you can lean up further until you are facing backwards.
