Thats what classic means. Re-hash of something original <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

It was the thing that weaned me on gaming.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Same here. As soon as I got my comp, a friend told me to go out and buy Half Life and join his TFC clan, so I did. And if it weren't for TFC, I probably wouldn't be playing NS.
On a side note, the clan never really put much emphasis into coming to practices and playing games, so it pretty much disbanded because it was never really a serious clan in the first place.
Don't call it TFC then. Stick with the official fiction and call it TF1.5.
...
Yeah, the forthcoming teleporters have been made known for some time now. If I still played TFC I'd probably care more about it, but I've since moved on.
Not sure if it's just having not played it in so long but it feels like the spy is a lot more sluggish than I remember. Mind you, could just be me being used to fades and skulks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
But I like TFC, tis pretty fun. Also some of the newer stuff like Dustbowl is perhaps the embodiment of gaming goodness. <3 Dustbowl
The new teleporters though... I didn't really get to play with them all that much. They seem kinda bleh to me though. Very unneeded.
Now staying Off Topic:
Since I joined the Half-Lfie scene late, I bought the Game of the Year Edition because it was all that they sold. That came with TFC. TFC was SO much fun, then I found out there you could download other mods. It was heaven.
Anyway, To be honest it didn't change gameplay what-so-ever. It just sits in the corner and hums away emitting sparklies. I put them in the middle of a stupid place and kill the enemy that stares at it in wonder.
Nail grenade Exploit works, Many map bugs where you can get outside the level still work, weaponwitch/silent rocket trick works as well.
Now that you mention it, your right, TFC is remarcably lag-free for all the stuff that goes on.
Heh I remember playing TFC way back when Half-Life was just released as GOTY and I was using a 33.6k modem, ahh those were the days.....

The only thing that makes the game play really different is the engine.
The HL engine makes annoying conc-jumping possible and grenades seem to bounce further, bunnyhopping, etc, etc. TFC and TF2.8 are essentially different games in playstyle, but maybe not maps weapons, and all that business.
<i>Edit</i>: Well, QW had bunnyhopping too, but it's not quite as extreme as HL. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo-->
Teleporters, in TFC.
Admittedly I haven't played TFC in months. Did they put out a new version or something?

The newer version of TFC is only available through steam.
When the nail grenade's fuse goes off, it moves upwards about a metre before it starts spitting out nails. So, if you do it right, if you get the nail gren to "go off" while it's juuuuust under a thin floor the grenade will rise through the floor and start nailing targets in the room above. As far as I know.
