Hammer The Way 2 Go?

In peoples opinion is Hammer the best editing program for ns? Or is there better, more user friendly programs like 'Quark'. I've actually tried and made a couple of maps on Quark, but it seemed to try too much and be too buggy for me to like. However hammer seemed so complicated and stupid when coming to select your textures for your brushes.

My problem is tryin to set up hammer to run ns, i can make half life maps no prob but when i try ns (and ive set everything to wha **** sould be from memory) it comes up with it cant open my map and that the map isnt on the server list. There simply is no "best" editor. Any attempt to determine which one is best will only end in a flame war where ppl who never tried the other editor sling mud at each other.

Hammer is most common, because that was the first Half-Life editor and ships with the game, so it also has more specific tutorials.
QuArK has a lot of nice features, even things newbies can take advantage of, but you'll have to figure out a lot on your own.

There are things QuArK does better, and there are a few things Hammer does better, both in the interface and in the actual capabilities.
