<div class="IPBDescription">Valve's Way To Advertise.</div> Notice the quiet this past week on Half-Life 2? I believe they will have it the 30th one way or another. Be it a demo, or Full out release. This is a great way to advertise, which was mentioned on PHL a few days ago. Just thought I'd post my little theory <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Sure, it would be cool if they did, but Steam is nowhere near ready for distributing HL2 at the moment and Vivendi doesn't seem to be ready either. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
For now I'm assuming is HAS been delayed, which is OK because there's a couple of good games coming out this month.

Just a teeny bit:d
**picks up crowbar and puts on mask. procedes in running into the distance**
That idea about the demo on September 30th is not a bad one though, maybe it'll happen. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
Sorry to inform you CWG but I killed your hamster.......and your goldfish.....
....and your mother. : P
I still think HL2 will be out the 30th; it's pretty obvious a lot (if not most?) of the HL/mod players are displeased with Steam for various reasons, and for them to risk the ire of the fans, right before the launch of a major title, strikes me as a "we KNOW we'll come out on top" mentality. Also, perhaps the in-store release of HL2 will blow so many people out of the water that the whole Steam launch fiasco will be forgiven?
Also, the Sept. 30 release date is what grabbed a lot of people, and Valve has denied that it will be postponed (at least last I checked), so it would be pretty bad if they kept telling us "yeah, it'll be on time! get ready!" and then at the very last minute go "oh, damn. sorry guys."
Halo for PC is coming out soon, so I could buy and play that.
Or I could play and finish either Ocarina of time on my Gamecube (only got to the part where Zora's place is frozen), or Windwaker (played it for about an hour, literaly, before I got back on my comp (this was after I had had the net taken away for nearly a year by my parents, so I was addicted to online play again)). <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

So thats where sparky, Fish#1 and Fish #2 went.....WHO CARES GIMMIE HALFLIFE
I picked it up, and remembered in that scene of the HL2 video, where he turns on this fan thing and cuts off the zombie's midriff, and the head is still crawling. He swings the crowbar forward as if he was punching someone easily 2 times in a second.
I figured, how the hell does a scientist nerd able to take down thousands of aliens when trained army men can be killed by one?
Anyways, so I figured the crowbar must not be hard to handle. Wrong, this thing was easily a third of my size, and I had to swing it like a baseball bat. There is no way Gordon is human. What a cheater.
So I kept trying it and I twisted my wrist. Never did that again.
One day, while feeling deliciously evil, I tried it again and then it fell out of my hands and sliced me in the chest. I died instantly, and I'm going to sue Valve.
Well, the first part is true...
i can feel it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Gordon was a star athlete in college (read his bio during the starting sequence of HL). Also, he's wearing the HEV, which is a powered suit. It all adds up.

There's one tool that's 2-3 feet long...can't remember what it's called (maybe it's actually a crowbar), and then there's another one thats 1-1.5 feet long. They have different uses, I'm not a carpenter...or...manhole lifter dude...or anything like that so I have no idea what the difference is.
However, if you want to swing a crowbar faster you need to 'choke-up' on it (say, if you have a 2 foot one). As long as you don't do it so much as to make it hit your chest when you swing it.
...Gordon still whips that thing around way to fast though. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> (I love that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ...it's so much less evil then the AOL one)
I would like Half-Life 2 to come out on the 30th...it'd be nice (except the lack of...game selling locations here). Generally cool games get delayed a lot. Despite that, I'd rather they make a game better and take longer than...uhhh, anything else. (What was that one game that took forever, was delayed repeatedly, was supposed to be good and sucked...a lot?)
I got my 55 dollars ready for it (pffft to taxes...). Sold my PS2 I never used...and two games.

~2 feet == Wrecking bar.
~1 foot == Cat's Claw.
One up side to a mom who is a general contractor. I got to help out with demolitions, through a good part of my early teens. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Gordon seems to be using a wrecking bar, but very few know that name, so they just called it a crowbar. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
