Mac To Pc Format Convert: Round 2

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!
This year in multimedia class, we're using Lightwave, but just like last year, we're still using Macs.
The Lightwave at school is a 7.0 demo; my computer has 7.5 installed. Specifically, we're working with Modeller. From a quick test I did, it seems like I can actually send Lightwave files from my PC to the Macs even though their version is older. But just like with Flash last year, I CAN'T **** OPEN FILES I WORKED ON WITH THE MAC ON MY PC. I have tried sending the files through e-mail and posting it on my webspace, but it has no effect.
What I have noticed however while working on the Mac is that they give no extension name to the files, (the name is .lwo). I have tried renaming the files on the Mac with a .lwo extension, but it also has no effect.
Does anyone know if there's ANY way to be able send Mac-made lightwave files, and still be able to work with an open them on PC? I tried using this: http://www.sigsoftware.com/namecleaner/, but I either misused it, or it just simply didn't work.
Any help would be appreciated.
A lot.
