As many as you guys may know the search at the top of the forums is borked and multiple other forums functions are also broken. Now people are always saying "OMG UES TEH SEACH AT TEH BOTTOME LOL" but frankly, that doesn't cut it. Someone ought to do something and fix the damn forums. It must have been broken for at least a year. There is no excuse for the offical forums of one of the top 5 Half Life mods to be broken, no excuse....

Well, it isn't my responsibility to fix and maintain the boards, it's theirs. And I also understand that teh Dev team work very hard on NS and what have you. But dear god its been broken for at least a year now. Someone ought to have fixed it by now. =\

Perhaps it is a browser problem instead..
I use mozilla 1.4 and both searches work fine..
Maybe the search doesn't like IE?

go talk to invision power board. Their website is invisionboard.com. They made the boards, they do the source, no one even remotely connected with natural-selection has anything to do with them, other than using it.
for some reason, it works on the mozilla browser, which is good in itself and i recommend downloading,
but if you'd rather stick with IE and just cant part, theres a thing called mozilla "phoenix" which is kind of like
a mozilla lite, you can download it here

for whatever obscure reason, it works in here and not in IE, try it yourself
well considering MS has no real reason (money) to work on IE, as most people use it and there not going to make more money if they make an updated version, IE updates from now on will be few and far between.

Mozilla Thunderbird is email/newsgroups only
Mozilla is both.
Mozilla also has its own IRC client, but I dunno how good it is
Don't get Mozilla 1.5 until it is out of beta, get 1.4
This forum is also several versions behind the official version. Hopefully they've at least applied the security fixes.
I doubt that, honestly, considering I've had it both work and fail for me on this computer, depending on my OS and what version of IE I was running; and considering that it also affects unskinned parts of the NS boards.
That said, we know it's a problem. It's not, from what I understand, a problem we can fix. I believe joev tried upgrading the board at one point, but rolled back because of issues with the new version. We'll look into it. Regardless, it's not something worth discussing.
