Please Help! They Stole My Megabitz!

<div class="IPBDescription">Someone nuked my computer!</div> OK last night I left my computer on by accident when I left for class. When I got home it was all messed up (My Computer, My Documents, Internet Explorer all had weird names like Uj Kkkkkkkkju, my internet refused to work, and my folers took like 5 minutes to open up). Well a couple days ago I bought Red Hat Linix so I figured now would be a good time to install it, WRONG! I made a new partition for it with Partition MAgic only Linux wouldn't recognice the CD's! The install thing started up but after a few steps is kept saying nothing was on the disks! So I gave up on that and decided to use Partition MAgic to merge my new partition back into the old one, another big mistake. After I did that WINDOWS WOULDN'T B00T! I had to put in my Recovery CD (my computer came with Windows XP pre-installed) and reset everything back to factory, but guess what. That means I LOST EVERYTHING I had on my computer! It took me like 2 years to get this thing perfect! Short of pushing my computer out the window I figured the best thing do to was to go buy Windows XP Pro (it has better securty features) and Re-Format my hard drive. Well, problem is I don't know how to "Re-Format"! CAn somone tell me how to do it? And if I do do it is there any way to keep the partitions and only re-format the original one?

    with XP you just pop the CD in - make sure the BIOS is set to boot from the CD before the HD - then it can Format for you.

    with older stuff you have to use

    well first of all ill just say if it recognizez home it wont install pro first u gotta go to win xp recovery console and type

    format C: this will erase EVERYTHING unable to boot nothing ur system will be helpless followed by that u install pro.

    Uhm.. fdisk does the same thing as partition magic.. only free.

    Got to make sure you have a Firewall and that you have rules set up on it to prevent people from getting in and FOXORING YOU!
    My firewall was messed up (thx to my little bro) and it was letting tons of people in with there dirty spywarez.

    I had 52 Processes running when I did my ad-aware.

    Do you know what 52 processes does to your computer... LAGS IT TO HELLLLLLLLL!
    So I had to clean them all out, reboot and restric my firewall to 100% blocking without my concent! I am still not sure of all the DMG that was done thanks to the spywarez!
