Gorge And Onos

They spit out structures all day, including painful-looking offense chambers and ridiculously large hives. One time, I saw my chihuahua hauck up an entire porkchop, but it's simply impossible for something the size of a pug to barf up something the size of a house. All of their attacks seem to be spitting thing up, too - spit, web, bile bomb, and spray. Yet, they never, ever devour anything. They don't even get a skulk's bite.

They eat heavy armor all day and don't even get indigestion. They can charge down a hallway about as fast as a tiny skulk can, all while carrying about 500LBS of steel and man in their bellies. When they're done, they blow marines out like the day they were born. This seems a tad silly.


Conclusion:
Give gorges devour, then give onos bilebomb. Except make the bilebomb more realistic and blast it out the back instead of the front. This would make those buttholes think twice when they try to run up and knife the poor gorge to death because he'd otherwise be "a waste of ammo." Think again.

    Gorges dont actually spit/vomit the structures out of themselves. They secrete chemical signals that make the bacteria form into a structure.

    I like this thread already!!!!

    But giving gorge devour, how the heck are they gunna eat a HA marine, hed struggle to get his foot in let alone that barge arse!

    The HA marine could prob just go "BAD DOGGIE BAD!!!" and boot the poor gorgie off his nicely polished boots. As for Bile bomb for onos, to powerful, a walking indestructible artillery peice, i doubt flaayra would like it but man oh man would that rock!

    I always thought gorges were just sorta planting a wad of bacteria from the res towers that _then_ grew/were built into towers, when theres nothing else to think about.
    Still... a "buildingbelch" attack does have its funness.... >=-)

    I like how a HA inside a ono can't use all of those power assisted servo's to puch its way out of that soft ono inside, And even tho a HA CHOULD fit inside a ono, it whould have to be like 80% emptey inside(keep in mind a normal human's stomach is only about as big as a half gallion of milk), so it has almost no orgins? Or how about set the HA's power-cells to overload and blow that dam ono up, why not your dead anyway?

    The explanation of why marines can't damage an onos while being devoured is simple. First, there is no room to move your arms/legs inside the onos, so you can't use a knife/gun. You can't do anything with your other equipment (the suit, whatever it is called) because the nanite signals are blocked off, so it stops working. That is also why a marine can't see their health while being digested.

    That can't be correct, because then you couldn't build anything once all of your hives died, including another hive.

    I don't see how the HA suit whould stop working inside of a ono because the link to the nano grid was cut off, if this was true, HA whould drop dead when they walk into a hive, and a com whould't be able to drop anything in a hive room. So we see this can't be true. As for not having room to get to your guns, this chould be true but if HA is anything like ANY of the powerarmor i'v seen in anyform the servo's whould still have enuf power to tear soft flesh.

    And the hive is only a HUGE mass of the alien cells floating all over the ship(base), the gorge plants a "becon" for the cells to mass up there and form the needed building, this is only a guess but seems to fit best with the story given in the NS book.

    what i don't get is how aliens use the "nano-sluge" from res nodes, from what the back story tells use nano's and alien cells are always trying to kill each other. so whould't a alien full of nano's be eaten alive form the inside out?

    The sludge isn't nanites but a Rich material that the nanite are created from.
    The gorge uses this rich material the same way that the humans do. He uses the rawr material to build things, just in the gorges case he builds organic structures and not nanites.

    you know.. this thread really makes me think that gorges are buliemic (sp). For those that didnt go to school cause they were busy sniffing drain cleaner... that is where you eat stuff then puke it out to get skinny, but then you get caught puking after every meal, so you eat lots, then puke it out l8er.
