Ok i just read the home page and there working summit with steam is this gonna make ns like cs1.6 where u must be online and connect to steam in order to play cos to put it simply i think that sucks! Because i like 2 play offline to see the maps etc and i have some problem with steam where it wont let me use it and i get an error saying either steam is down or my internet connection is (and it isnt) i think its cos of my settings. neway this could result in me not being able to play!!!!

some1 plz fill me in

    well steam servers are under quite heavy load at the moment with people downloading large files instead of downloading the full cache witch is recommended.

    but also about the connection message i have that at times it could either mean your firewall settings are too high if you have one or that steam is under very heavy load because i had the message too but i just altered my firewall settings and it started to run fine.

    ALL HL mods will eventually (translate: soon) require Steam, and yes, Steam currently *does* require an Internet connection.

    The transition may take some time. I do recommend that everybody who still likes WON just stick with it until it's absolutely necessary to update to Steam.

    sorry for this, but i was told that we were locking all steam threads...


    As a note, for testing maps, i recommend KEEPING your old WON-based system, since it does not require internetconnection, just for the purpose of playing and testing maps locally....


    other than that, take steam issues to steam.
