<div class="IPBDescription">Reporting the evil.....</div> I've played NS a lot. It's a great game, but people ruin it by cheating. I myself use Cheating-Death. How do I report cheating, and to whom? I can list names, but people can just change them in a few seconds. Is there a permanent ID number everyone has, and if so, how do I see and report that?

    Bleh.. if you don't even know how to get won/steam ids.. chances are you are just playing against people who have played for a bit/a lot longer than you have.
    But if you really must know, type status in console and read through what it has to say. The number should be under the unique id section.
    Then send it to the server admin with proof of the person cheatings (such as first person specator demos or at very least condumps+screenshots)
    Also, if you have such a problem with cheaters, get <a href='http://se1.kr.unitedadmins.com/cdeath-dl.php' target='_blank'>Cheating-Death</a> and play on some cheating-death servers. No cheaters at all. Although people complain Cheating-death lowers their fps and raises their ping and makes it hard to aim, they lie. Cheating death does none of that stuff, just forces it so people can't cheat

    I have yet to see one legit cheat in NS. Lets just hope is stays that way as well.

    Yes, I am a relative newbie. I've been only playing for 3 weeks. However, you mentioned demos - would these be first-person-perspectives movies taken while in NS? How do you make these?

    Is there such a thing? 'Legit cheat' seems to be an oxymoron to me.

    Please don't double post, although I'm not a mod and can't really do anything about it..     As for demos, the most effective way is to go into spectator mode, view first person of the suspected cheater, the in console type
    record <insertnameofdemohere>
    (no <>s of course..) then type
    stop
    in console when you are done with that. Then send off the demo (they are saved in the NS folder.. I think.. and preferably send in a zip file, as the normal sizes are huge) to the server admin, or post it on the servers website (not the NS site. The site of the server you saw the cheater on) along with the persons wonid. If the server admin thinks it is worth taking action, they will, if not.. oh well.

    I guess it is. Don't mind me, I have been on the boards for 9 hours while working.

    A cheat is a cheat. However, I still haven't seen one.

    To take a demo, go into Spectator mode.

    btw, if you ever played against clan members they will kill you before you even fire your gun/bite, Some people are just too good, its a normal thing.

    Well Shadow the problem there is that you, like myself, are not an admin/moderatior.. So you can;t do much about it except for sit back and wait.. and avoid spamming so you don't get in trouble with the admin/mod who does eventually lock it.

    Oh, and shadow, as for your clan member remark.. I once held off 3 cX members from taking a base for a good couple minutes with only some turrets and a shotgun. Of course, they weren't trying or really organized.. but it was still cool..

    a 'legitimate cheater' would be someone who's accused of cheating that actually <b>is</b> cheating. People are far too quick to shout cheat in most games (I got kicked off a server for pulling off non-stop headshots in CS =/ ) but you can usually tell the real cheats by their attitude.

    Dragon, I will ask you this nicely and only once before I get annoyed. Please QUIT posting about cheaters here. If you have a complaint make a demo and take it to the admins of the server. This is not the place for such things.
