I'll need those by the time I'm 30 I'd guess.  My vision gets subtly worse every year.

Then of course there's that miniature microchip that can let blind people see...

Sucker is built atom by atom, although the resolution is atrociously low, it does let people with certain types of blindness to recognize faces and other things...

Although it's somewhat blocky it does work. So i'm sure in the future they can make it more effective.

LOL coil! Yeah, but in the future people don't become blind just because of bad vision. That is what glasses and contacts are for. It always doesn't mean that you are gonna be blind some day.. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Well, sure it can help the blinded see but would you want to walk around with wires sticking out of your skull.

Are you kidding?  Talk about your conversation topic!

Well I dunno I think it might dangerous to have wires plugged directly into your brain. You could probably have part of your brain pulled out or something when you fall.

well, there is the problem of looking at a computer or tv screen with this, there could be a dissonance between the refresh rates, very bad.  You know how on news channels you'll see a clip including a look at some monitors that have lines travelling down them all the time, that's what I'm talking about, only it will happen all the time, just when looking around unless the refresh rate is either high enough or not dissonant with the particular rate you are looking at.

That aside, I know a guy who has one eye, he might like something like this, though he would probably wait, he's doing very well with the one he has left.
