    Mine too... I cant get any servers in my steam browser. I have to connect to IP's manually.

    (All the servers are pretty much empty anyway)

    Delete ClientRegistry.blob in Steam folder, restart Steam, let it update (shouldnt take long) and youre back to normal. Steam works fine for me.

    according to the steam forems, you deleat the file "ClientRegistry.blob" in c:/programFiles/steam. run steam, and it should update.

    however when i try it stops updating half-way. just wait till the next patch comes out and every thing will be Aok.

    Um, you know my problem? Everytime I start steam up the CPU usage goes up to 100% for a half an hour. I can't do anything, and the computer jumps around in my room cuase it loads so much.

    Next week I bet it will blow up, it can't take this kind of pressure.

    Whoa hang on nomble - me too. I got a p4 2.4ghz 800fsb and the damn thing uses 100% server load for about 15 minutes everytime steam loads. The computer just goes crazy, thinking all the time, kinda like when you are defraggin or virus scanning....

    And I thought it was just me

    If I remember correctly....the computer "thinking" for 15 min is due to STEAM being shut down 3 times in a row. Such as...a pc locking up and someone restarting it while STEAM is on. STEAM likes to be shut thru its own interface and not thru cntrl+alt+delete - ing. Something about cache files.
