    definantly unique looking. The brushes look a bit square, but not bad overall. Nice lighting effects.

    Oh ya. I forgot to mention that the alien mouth eats you when you join aliens <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> , and that its actually a combat map so its name should read "Co_tremo."     Man, that is Suh - WeeT!

    The support beam -- amazing, the alien mouth -- too cool, the big pit -- "elite".

    Only problem I have is the textures don't fit in just right. Maybe it's because it's WIP, but ya, I know nothing about mapping :\.

    I think that looks positively stunning. Very Bast-like (that's a very good thing). A few places you could touch up the textures, but that's mostely due to missalignment. a couple i would replace, but looking very very good. Was the alien mouth done with a model, or is that all world-brush?

    Looks like a world brush with a HL xen texture, it's awesome, great job!

    The mouth is world-brush. The beauty of it is that when you move under the mouth a big tongue comes down and snatches you up, then the mouth does thing weird kinda-closing-thing, and plays a creepy alien growl/hiss noise. . The Alien join brush is up by all the teeth. The tentacles around the mouth are also func_pendalum so they sway slightly. The light on the left side of the mouth also flickers and there is an ambient water drip sound playing.

    There's a lot of stuff in the ready room, but DSH is really good at optimizing so the r_speeds are fine. Up in the corner of the ceiling, taking in the whole room, it peaked around 623... thats the hightest we could get it. When you're down on the floor the r_speeds are negligible.


    i'm starting to realize what you mean about some of the textures not fitting right.. some look scaled to large... at the time it saved on polys.. but now it kinda looks funny.. I'm refering to the wall behind the Observation computer.

    I was thinking of the doors where you jump in for random. the part where the doors meet would not have warning paint on it. Make it some other gritty, interlocking type texture. like the black 'ventxxxx' texture, which is usually used for trim. also, the wall for the spectating computer, where the 'ladders' are... use ladder textures. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> and make the wall the ladders are on not so stretched, or maybe an entirely different texture. just doesn't work. i would say for the most part the rest of it looks fine. fix that up and give us an update. ^_^

    your arquitecture looks really promising. Nice work. The wires look a bit too big up there in 2º shot.

    the alien mouth looks like the mouth from the barnacle alien in half-life.

    Since this was ::bumped:: i might as well say that the map is progressing nicely, and there's sure to be more screens coming. As it stands, the readyroom texturing is now quite bland compared to the other areas of the map.. we'll have to go back and spruce it up. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yep. They'll both be pushed up at the same time, and the mouth is a func_illusionary so there will be no problems with falling back down. The tongue also fires at a fast rate, so it'll seem like everyone has been picked up.

    I had the opportunity to playtest this map a few nights ago and it's really great. It's lots of fun and balanced. There are also lots of neat things like fans that chop you up, if you fall into the pit with electricity beams jetting around you die and a big ZAP sounds plays. It's amazing!
