electrified turret factory death
I was playing a game last night when one of our alien RTs came under attack. Thinking nothing of it because I'd already chomped several marines and their RTs already I ran in to stop them and almost stopped in my skulky tracks.
Sure enough there was a marine attacking the Res Tower but there was also a row of 3 turrets and an electrified Turret Factory sitting ontop of the RT!!!!.
Getting over it and getting to the task at hand I jumped over the turrets and bit the marine in the face, killing him but also killing me as the electrified TF zapped me.
The good thing is that for some reason being ontop of the RT stopped the TF from operating the turrets so I just came back and gorged, bilebombing the turrets and factory to heck before rebuilding the now lost RT.
It was pretty scummy though because if we'd only had 1 hive the hovering death factory would've not only electrified our RT to death (which it did anyway) but once the RT was gone there was no way you could've taken the floating killer out without some major hastle.
Anyone else seen this tactic before or anything quite as nasty? o.O

AHAHAHA
LOL now thats gone....nope never seen it before, but I HAVE seen Electric TF walls, and they are just pure evil, even to Onos....A regen Onos died trying to get past that 5+ ETF wall
Thats all i have to say on the matter.
Good day.
That's the biggest flaw,it actually loses it's place once it's been damaged.
Besides,one bolt doesn't kill a skulk right?
And nope, it didn't budge at all while I whacked it with bilebombs... it just hovared there while I splatted it into oblivion. It happened at the res node at horseshoe in... uh... whatever that maps called ^^;
It was like a ticking clock!

So by killing it and rebuilding you end up losing 15(original RT cost)+10(regorging)+15(new RT) - (how much res that RT provided your team)
You come out ahead in all ways for that.. I can't think of a viable reason to this, unless by doing this, it allowed a seige to reach a hive or something...
But I've never seen that before (and I thought I had saw everything)
My fav is dropping a CC on a Hive when FF is on, any OT's attack the hive... and the CC's are so hard to kill, the hive takes some damage and annoys the entire alien team for extended periods of time until someone wastes 2 minutes to sit there and chomp it to death.
What if you recycle it afterwards? Does recycle give you back a portion of the electric cost, or just a portion of the initial build cost?
but thats a good question
