Steam And Lans

<div class="IPBDescription">Individual connections still required?</div> Has valve released a patch for Steam that allows half-life LANplay without internet connections?

We have been discussing this topic over in the LAN forums but none of us know for sure.
This is an important question for me as I cannot install Steam until I am sure that I will be able to play on the LANs we host.

Does anyone here have any additional information?

    Steam currently requires an Internet connection for any play, including LANs.

    However, this is not the Steam FAQs forum. This is the NS forum. If you have any more questions, I'd suggest you ask at www.steampowered.com.
