Where to begin? Well, he charged Pedro with what looked to most observers to be a punch.
Sorry, but there's a thing called 'self defense' you're allowed to employee in reasonable force if attacked.
Is he supposed to let the old man punch him? Would you? Hindsight is 20/20, but if given a split second to react, I wonder how much more civilized you'd perform.
Your other comment-- about Pedro's English-- is so fantastically ignorant that I'm just going to sit back and chuckle for a moment.
....
Heh, ok, I'm through.
A) Pedro is from the Dominican Republic, like a large number of players in MLB-- heck, like many of the Yankees.
Well, at least you've got a lot of bliss.
I'm sorry, but it sucks as a Red Sox fan to see him and Nomar yucking it up and having a good old time in the dugout after his last strikeout, with his team still behind in a close game.
For the people in the stand who shelled out hundreds of dollars to see you play, who are currently holding their breath and tearing out their hair over the game (now over, another nice one for you, Nomar) at least pretend like you care.

No intensity whatsoever.
