Might be a good idea to keep the discussion to one thread.

Yus, I think little johnny's days are numbered. I said I was going to vote "1,2,3,4" down the voting slip and I got a nasty glare from my gf. She says to "Vote Labour". Apparently that's not john.

On topic bit... Erm... Arnie's a few biscuts short of a tin methinks. He's just a useful idiot.

Doesn't matter if you pass a law for that, it'd be unconstitutional. You'd have to change the constitution for Arnold to run. That's a pretty tall order since you'd need two-thirds of the states to ratify such an amendment and Americans in general are a tad xenophobic at the moment so I doubt we'll pass something allowing a non-natural born cititzen to become president.

Hey, I want Howard gone as well, and he ain't getting my vote either, but I know there's no chance of him going. If Carr was leading Labour then I could see them posing a threat, but with Crean at the helm I really doubt that Labour will even remotely threaten Howard's position. Pity, as I loathe Howard and everything he stands for.

Btw, for non-Aussies, John Howard is our Prime Minister. I think he's been our PM for what, 9? 10 years? Can't remember now. For future referance, examine George Bush's arsehole. If you're lucky, you'll see our Beloved Leader's feet sticking out. Get in there quick though because at his current rate he'll be in the small intestine by Friday <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

*Sigh* The next mention of the Patriot Act gets this thread locked, I'm serious. This forum is not a place for that discussion, look one lower for that.

As for Schwarzenegger winning, what can I say? He may be a Republican, but he's nonetheless the best alternative they had. Oh, and contrary to popular belief, the guy isn't stupid. He's got a business degree and is considered one of the most virtuous self-PRers of Hollywood. Let's see how that transports into politics.

Slightly unrelated, a story I heard once:
One time on the set, Arnie called a local radio station to participate in their "Arnold Schwarzenegger Voice Imitation Contest". He got a mediocre rating. The set must've been suffocating with laughter.
Besides, movies like "Last Action Hero" prove that the man's got humor, something that most politics are sadly lacking.

He's also the only pro-choice pro g@y rights Republican ever to run for office in California, so he's already got some politics right. And doesn't he have Warren Buffet as a financial advisor?

PS Gray Davis has been a victim of a totall recall and was erased from the ballot and all his hopes of a life in politics have been terminated.

It's easy. Unlike other countries, US political parties are at their core a label. Sure birds of a feather flock together, but you can most of the time get a label of any party (that's how you get Conservative Democrats and Arnold the Republican).

As for Arnold the Governor, I don't know if he'll be able to help out CA or not. He's got expirence but the state has problems that are going to be hard to deal with (as the state has a blend of the worst of conservatives and liberal policies).

2.) If he sucks... californians deserve to be punished for being so stupid... so YaY
