Don't diss the new players
Many people complain about new players not listening, or refusing to change tactics, doing things that would lame up the game, ignoring whats good for the team and doing whats good for himself.
Hmm.... why don't they listen?
simple, new players will join into games, instantly all the hardcore and elite clanners get mad at them and yell at them and call them "newbs", unless they're a friend of a clan member or regular.
Yes, I admit I used to be like these "hardcore and elite clanners that get mad at new players".
I changed my ways.
I made regulars get off new players' backs. I then taught new players tips and how things work. They ended up liking me and listened to what i said, and developed a habit of following "Nice" commanders. Within a single week i turned about 15 new players on a server into mediocre/good players who worked together with amazing team coordination.
Yes, there are players who inevitably will never learn, or no matter how you approach them, they will always go their own path.
Why yell at them? why swear at them?
So you can either be ignored or start a pointless, flaming arguement against someone who is too stubborn for change in the first place?
Not worth it, also your making these people more resistant to listening to people.
Friendly environments are always going to be more fun for all players, have better teamwork, have more skilled players, have less people going "BULL KRAP!", and make servers more popular (Who is going to go back to a server where every1 says "quiet nub")
Yes, it is very true, kindness pays.
So don't ever call people "newbs". the definition of "newb" is 'a slang or offensive term for an individual who is new at an experience"
If you make it hard for new player's, you are ruining thier fun. New player's will not even bother to play natural selection. I know there are many players like me, but there are many, many people who have no respect for anyone who isn't highly skilled.
I see fewer and fewer people playing natural selection. This is because there are more people quitting NS than there are people who are taking up NS. If this keeps up, there will be only the few people who love NS and will play it until they are the only player left, and even then still try to make people play.
If people start flaming on this post, that yelling and swearing and banning new players is the only way to make them learn, that is proof enough that the ns environment is unfriendly and will most likely repel people from becomming healthfully addicted to the game.
Kindness and patience is a virtue.

n00b (nub, nooblar, nublet, nooblet, etc.)= someone who may or may not be new, but does not care to learn (or already knows, but completely disregards) the rules because it "interferes" with their "fun". Generally an insult.
There's nothing wrong with calling someone a newbie, or newb. calling them n00b, or any other derivative is. While I do agree with what you're saying, I just wanted to point that out, because so many people seem to get them confused.
If people are willing to learn, then I'm willing to teach in as friendly a way as I can muster. Can't get any simpler than that, really.
Yes, there is something wrong with this.

NS's death is inevitable, just like every game, sadly, starcraft too will die as well. Which is why stuff like Starcraft 2, Half-life 2, and other sequels as well. However, if every1 quit on the original, no one will be around for the next Natural Selection.
By supporting malace towards the new players, your killing the work of NS team.
- Edit, just noticed (or rememberd) the amount of times ive seen this posted so often, however never have i seen a 'lets be horrible to n00bs thread'.
i must admit, im pretty '1337ist' and proud of it. i am willing to help a new player learn the game, but smacktards who do things which they should know better aint gonna get sympathy from me.
n00bs can learn, but just stay clear of me.
