They are playtesters, PT's. Always when a new version of NS comes out, they get it first so they can test it (supposedly) properly and give feedback. After that the NS dev team (Flayra etc.) releases a new beta (if the previous one wasn't good enough) or a new public version like NS 2.1, which will come sooner or later.

(Btw, I'm not sure, but I think if you have to ask how to become a PT, you can't. People who are worthy enough for a PT status will know it already.)

Those are, I think, the veterans. The ones that everyone hates. Or maybe it's just envy?

The confusing thing about the whole "playtesting" part is that you can talk about two groups of playtesters: All those who are currently testing the not-yet released versions of NS, or the more narrow group of "playtesters", that is those whithin the larger group of playtesters who are neither developers nor veterans.

So, within the big big group of playtesters we have:<ul><li>developers: Those actively working on the mod.<li>veterans: A selection of players from the top-of-the-line clans (yes, I realize <b>you</b> and <b>your</b> clan are <i>infinitely</i> better than this or that clan in the veteran program and should have their place, but do you see me care?).<li>playtesters: Supposedly people like you and me, people from all levels of play.
