Harddisk Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">Ahem...</div> Alright so here goes.

System Specs: AMD Athlon XP 2700+ 333Fsb
Windows XP Pro
512 DDR@400mhz
Gigabyte Mobo
Hard disk in question: Maxtor Diamond+8 (40 gig)

Problem: Last night I went to bed with it defragmenting. I wake up with my computer off, suspisously I turn it back on only to have the hard disk beep at me and "fail" I've tried everything known to man, and it isn't my system.(Tested with a crappy 9 gig which I am stuck on till this is resolved) Any help?.....please? <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    go to a comp shop, tell them you need a HDD rescue

    get all your pr0n and commie manifesto's off it (hopefuly your plans to convert MonsE will be saved)

    then go buy a new one, sucks don't it?

    You can probably RMA the b0rked one if it's still under warranty.

    Yeah I just did that actually. They better ship it fast. 9 gig drives suck.
