What is the damage system like

I never really asked this yet, so what will the damage system be like in the game, will it be sort of like TFC where everyone manages to take 100+ bullets before dying and everything is based on HP or will this be more realistic in the sense of no numbers for hp and damage more realistic as in, one good shred and your dead?

first off you must realize this is not a realism mod. Also by looking at the screen shots you will see that numbers are given for health.

stc, not a dev/pt

2 spikes? Those things AREN'T laced with explosive tips ya know!

As for how much, depends on what armour upgardes ech class has, how much their weapons are upgarded, if their armour is upgraded, etc

well i thought spikes would penetrate the armor since the sharp edges...
where do the spikes come from? thats what i wanna know

well we already know the body can form relatively hard items. Bones, gallstones(sp). So we can assume that their body has some relatively fast method of constructing those.

The damage system? It's a mixture of TFC and CS... and it ALL depends on what upgrades the teams have.

I am not a mathematically oriented guy, but I prefer to think of the damage system mathematically. Think of it in terms of rps spent vs. rps your opponent spent that you will remove.
If you are gonna spend a lot of rps on a gun, it will be able to pay for itself if used correctly. If you evolve to a specific class of alien, you will be able to pay for yourself if used correctly.
Not all guns are created equal. Not all classes are created equal. Not all armor is created equal.
However, they all have trade offs and they are all balanced point wise for their power.
The damage system is widely varied, but can be linked most similarly to an RTS. Think like this. If you pay the credits for a siege tank, you expect it to be able to rack up the kills of zerg equal to its cost if used intelligently, yes? Same applies NS. Of course, you must factor skill and human nature into the equation, but these are th elements that make NS commanding so much more than an RTS.

you are completly right humbaba, in the end; it all comes down to resources.

to use another SC analogy (forgive me ) if you spend 50 minerals on one marine, if you spent 150 more you could have 4 and have the ability of a stronger group so that the one marine doesn't get picked off by a lone zergling or a pair. a group is always better, though the amount you spend is higher, the more you lose if it fails, leaving a BIG (in this game, BIG is often bad for marines; unless its a HMG) leaving a gouge in your resource pool. not good in NS.

to answer the original question:
The damage system is in HP/Armor (less to type, im just lazy. ) so i would suspect that if you shoot something it does X amount of damage all the time.
