<div class="IPBDescription">Just a lil something I mixed up</div> Usually, first time player go marines since aliens is very confusing, but im here to try to teach as much as I can about playing aliens.

Ok, Aliens are made up of 5 different races/ Skulk <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> Gorge, <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> Lerk <!--emo&::lerk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif'><!--endemo--> fade <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif'><!--endemo--> and finally, the onos <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->

When you start out, you might want to look around the map for vents and res nodes, this will be very usefull to you. Try to remember that skulks can climb walls simply by pressing the foward button on the wall and looking up. If you find yourself in a situation in which there are multiple marines heading towards you, try using your #2 weapon (parasite) which is used long ranged. hit one, and run away. Also if you remember the location in which it happened try telling your allys where it happened. If you happen to die really fast to the marines, try going Gorge. and ask your teammates what chamber they want. (there is a selection of Sensory, Defence, or Movement) and try placing 3 of them. You can build by rightclicking. If you happen to have enough resources for a hive, try building one in a safe location. Be advised that you cannot build a hive in any location you want. there are 3 specific locations for this. It will usually say Hive: hivename as the location. now that you have helped your teammates, try going back to skulk and attack some marines. Try staying with the group so you have a larger chance of survival. now, everytime you hear a marine, hide by a door and as soon as he rushes in, CHOMP, bite him up. It will be ok if he kills you, your not experienced yet. But if you keep training at this, you might be able to Chomp one up. and if you train enough, you will be able to get 2, or even 3 or higher! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->. Now I shall Explain some races and how to play as them.

skulk <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->
skulk is the most basic race of all. you go up, kill marines, and earn resources. when attacking marines you always want to be able to cloak, hide, and NOT run in a straight line when attacking, you want to make it almost impossible for them to shoot you. and get teh following upgrades.
DEFENCE CHAMBER: Carapace (makes you able to survive more shots)
MOVEMENT CHAMBER: Celerity (makes you much faster)
SENSORY CHAMBER: Cloaking. (stand still to be invisible)
lvl 1 hive moves-
Bite- this is your main move, use it to kill marines. Close range
Parasite - use this to be able to see marines through hive site. Far range
Lvl 2 hive move-
Leap- use to get to places faster, does less damage then bite. - close rage
lvl 3 hive Move-
Xenocide- Use this to blow yourself up and hurt everyone near by - medium range

Lerk <!--emo&::lerk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/lerk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='lerk.gif'><!--endemo-->
the lerk has a decent amout of hitpoints but is mostly far ranges, spore the enemys while in vent to survive better.
Defence chamber- regeneration (gives your hitpoints back overtime)
Movement Chamber- Adrenaline (this makes your energy come back faster)
Sensory Chamber- Cloaking (stand still when enemys nearby)
Lvl 1 moves:
spike - shoot a spike maching gun from far ranged. - far ranged
Spore- slowly makes enemys health go away- far ranged
lvl 2 hive moves-
Umbra- spray this and it will provide safety for you and/or allys. far ranged
Lvl 3 hive-
Primal scream- use this to make you/allys attack faster and get energy fast too (works well with spikes)-close/far ranged.
Fade <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif'><!--endemo-->
This is the hit and run alien, by its incredible power with hitpoints/attacks it can do some extreme damage. The main point of the fade is to blink up to enemy, Swipe, Kill, go back and cureself, repeat.
Defence Chamber- Regeneration this will cure you nicely while you blink away! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Movement chamber- Adrenaline, you need all the enery you can have while blinking away. or swiping.
Sensory chamber- Scent of fear (use this to see where your enemys are)
Lvl1 Hive moves:
Swipe- Use this to attack enemys the damage is very powerfull -range close
Blink- Use this to glide really fast. -range (doesnt do damage, form of transporation)
Lvl2 hive moves:
Metobolize- use this to cure yourself faster. -range (doesnt do damage)
lvl3 hive move:
Acid Rocked- use this if you prefer long range fighting -range far
Onos <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo-->
This is the strongest race of all. it has 500 health. Never go onos without telling, or helping your teammates.
make sure you stay alive (100 res is alot).
Defence Chamber- Regeneration (most of the time you cure fater than you get damaged.)
Movement Chamber- Celerity (onos's are slow)
Sensory chamber- Scent of Fear. (use this to track enemys)
Lvl1 Hive moves:
Gore- this is the main move, a bite, go up to marines and use this. -range small
Devour- go up to marines and eat them, they slowly die and you slowly get tou health back, if you die, they're free! (range small)
lvl2 hive move:
stomp- Use this to keep your enemys still for a couple of seconds, they cannot attack or move, then go up to them and bite or eat them. -range medium
lvl 3 hive move:
you can ignore the level 3 hive move, its a bit more harder to use, I might explain it some other time.

    I'm just curious but, are you assuming they have or have not seen the instructional slides? The manual as well? Because if you are assuming they have not seen either of these you might have to go into even more detail. Other than that I liked it. Keep it up, and don't be afraid to edit this one.

    Clerity? For a skulk?

    Hmm...
    IMHO I'd *always* go Silence. Adrenaline is a definate no-no, (how useful is being able to leap around all the time?) but Clerity... Hmm... One to think on.

    Good all in all.
    Go through removing some spelling mistakes, and this could be potential sticky material.

    I still think you need more discussion though, and your choices for upgrades are not the be-all and end-all options. Regen for FADE? You MAD? Soz, but isn't that what Metabolise is for??? Carapace turns you into a killing machiene.

    no i agree with lordy on that one. Regen is much better for fades imo, it heals at a faster rate. Metabolize is just weak imo, not to mention you can get healed by dcs, gorges, and hives more efficiently too.

    Id also get celerity as a fade, you can do hit and runs much faster with this, also you can do the 'crouch blinking' technique

    I used to think that. I would always take carapace and use metabolize to heal. Then I tried regeneration. It was extremely effective, allowing me to heal in the midst of battle, while blinking. I always take regeneration as a Fade now.

    Yeah, I also prefer Regen as fade, makes me last longer against those no aim Pub marines <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    it heals 23 a tick (or so) 3 DC heals at 30 that's 53 compared to 50 with metabolize.

    Metabolize ticks faster than regen though, so you will actually heal faster with Meta.

    However, Meta only works while you aren't doing anything else (such as attacking or Blinking), and are spending energy. Regen works during battle and while you are running away from battle with blink. That's what makes Regen so much better.

    I only go carapace with Fade if I'm attacking a base with lots of DCs built outside it for quick healing.

    I'd like to point out that once you have the third hive up you should go adrenaline with the onos. An adrenaline onos charging can last about 15-20 seconds, and will refill your energy bar when you are healing with regenration <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    as you can see I have clearly not added charge, so I would not put down adrenaline...
