<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone up for a game?</div> I've missed 1.04. So I was wondering, anyone wanna scrounge up a game of 1.04? I'll host the game and it cant be over 12 players or else we'll all lag out probably...
Just post if you want to, but there are some technical issues to work out. For 1.04 to work properly, you need to rename your 1.04 backup folder to ns, and rename your 2.0 ns folder to something else. The cfg file of 1.04 tells the computer to draw data crom the ns folder, but its not 1.04 data, so the game crashes.
Post if you wanna game, we'll set a time and date. (PS, sounds in 1.04 for the LMG rocked)
First map up will be nancy.

Id love to... but 6 am gmt ... hehe, have fun guys, and yes, make it a 1.05 modded server, with the works (including jp nerf - i cant remember the settings we used for it sadly)

bubbles, you know better than that. It'll be 1 gorge dependancy, totally different strats, and at the very least, it'll show us exactly how much has changed between 1.04 and 2.01. 1.04 was when NS was at it's high point for me, and I almost never play marines. It was when I sat all day long at school or work, drooling over the chance to get home to play some more. This will be a good test for alot of people to see if it's really as good as we remember, or if it's truly just been made out to be the "good old days" by our poor memories. If I could be there, I'd welcome the chance to try it out for a night.

Incorrect. Had you played 1.00, you would realize how bad it was.
Marines had exponential res income, fade's sucked hardcore, sieges were uber turrets that didn't require any spotting, turrets kept working after the turret fact died, it was terrible.
1.01 was released like one week after 1.00 to fix the res system. Then 1.02 came along to give a much needed boost to fades (speed increased). I forget exactly what 1.03 did, but I do remember a couple of biggies, turrets and seige cannons stopped working without turret fac, and GL/HMG costs were changed a bit. 1.04 made siege not shoot through walls without spotting, gave a ton of nerfs to aliens (strange I know) and made some things cheaper for marines.
