Theres a CD that came with the motherboard with a whole bunch of programs, hardware monitoring, some Nforce2 audio program, the list goes on. I was wondering which programs were actually useful.

I have this motherboard but didn't get any of that stuff..and my friend who got the deluxe/gold version got a CD with a load of media software like WinDVD and some other trash.

But from previus experience I'd tend to say don't bother installing any of it..most of its just clutterware.

You need to have the motherboard chipset drivers installed for best performance. Don't use the software off the C-D as that software is already outdated, just go to Nvidias website and download the latest build.

Erm ok now I've got another question.. theres a feature called Asus Qfan, but the manual and all websites I've found have crappy documentation on it. Someone want to explain what the fan ratios do when I turn this on?

i have the A7n8x deluxe revision 2. you really dont need anything on the cd just download the latest nforce drivers from asus, ive heard the drivers directly from nvidia arent quite compatible over because of some different chip the board uses at least thats what ive heard.

Q - fan: this is something you can turn on in the bios, and will make your fans spin faster when underload to keep temperatures down, if you can stand the spin up and down noise of the fan go ahead and turn it on.
