Personally, I think it was great. As a christian, I know the values of being alone, meditating, and watching others, which was the main purpose of all of this, other than a stunt. I think its great, spiritually, to understand yourself more.

I'm not undermining or attacking your faith here, but if that was the reason he stated it is the biggest crock of crap....

Obviously he hasn't obtained inner peace because he was delusional for a few days....

I personally just see it as a grotesque public peanut gallery to satisfy David Blaine's personal ego... I don't see anything spiritual about it, he sat in a f***ing box for 6 weeks and starved himself... If he wanted to obtain some new level spiritually he should have done it away from the public eye, this is just an overdrawn publicity stunt.

We don't think poorly of long distance runners who push themselves beyond the limits that we can obtain, so what's the reason for all the derision Blaine has received? This is akin to throwing tomatoes at marathon runners as they pass you by and is simply contemptible.

You get the occasional LIVE (*gasp!*) updates of David Blaine during the Sky One hour long commercials. They are all like: PUSH TEH RED BUTTON NOW TO SEE TEH DAVID BLAINE LIVE!

Why the hell would ANYONE want to sit there in total silence looking at david blaine sleeping in a transparent box is beyond me. Its almost as pathetic as watching late night LIVE big brother when all the contestants are fast asleep.

First Ive ever heard a christian with that attitude. Ive always been told that Christianity is all about the comradory and worship...not solitude and meditation. Just my own experience tho.

Anyways, In my mind I couldnt draw any spiritual meaning from a stunt like that <i>for myself</i>, but spirituality is relative. Regardless of how annoying you may find him, you really have no right to demean his spiritual growth because it doesnt fit into your own ideal spectrum of spirituality.
