<div class="IPBDescription">and its teh awesomeness</div> mmm new version of Firebird, if anyone is interested in knowing whats changed theres basically a new Advanced tab in the options that gives you the ability to change things that you could only do through the user.js files before. <a href='http://texturizer.net/firebird/index.html' target='_blank'>You can get it here!</a>

Also I was looking to see if chatzilla works with FB yet and unfortunately it still doesnt, but I did find out how to make mIRC open links in FireBird or any browser for that matter. To make mIRC use Firebird as the default URL handler, add the following code to your "remote" scripts in mIRC (click the Remote button on the toolbar, or hit ALT+R):

<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->on ^*:hotlink:*//*.*:*: { }
on *:hotlink:*//*.*:*: { run C:\shortcuts\Firebird.exe $1 }
on ^*:hotlink:*www.*:*: { }
on *:hotlink:*www.*:*: { run C:\shortcuts\Firebird.exe http:// $+ $1 }<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    its basically a version of mozilla thats not bloated and I find to be much faster and efficient. Its skinng and customzing abilities are superior to regular Mozilla as well. Italso has built in pop up suppression and tabs.

    If you bothered to click the link you'd find out...it's a web browser apparently

    Is there a way to make it your default browser period? I use Trillian, plus I don't feel like going through files for all my programs which use the web and searching for how to change it.

    No, thanks. I'll stick with Opera. ;D

    yes, you get a prompt when you start it if its not your default browser just like IE, I only included that mIRC thing because mIRC ignores what the default browser is and just opens IE.

    Actually, the latest IRC version ( 6.12, I believe) opens the default browser.

    I just downloaded firebird for the first time and it's great. And for those worrying about favorites, it imports them automatically.

    I did, but after 3 minutes of waiting for it to load(bad server I guess. And yes, I did hit reload many a time) I just decided to ask, figuring it was faster.

    I actually tried firebird and decided that its not better than IE. sure it has cool mozilla extensions but most of them dont' work properly, ie macromedia FLASH (yeah i know there's a fix). and there isn't a lot of support from utilities that i use like flashget. It also loads a LOT slower than IE on my puter. and i dont' like the tabs feature - i like seeing each window title on my start bar. if i was gonna go mozilla i would probably get opera

    disable tabbed browsing!

    and on my puter ie loads .... still loading .... still loading .... loading .... initializing ..... enjoy your stay .... would you like something to read ..... coffee? two sugars right? ...... welcome to the internet ..... now loading your page .....

    firebird: welcome to the forums! want bandwidth with that?

    strange.....

    I've been using Firebird/Phoenix for over a year now. Very satisfied with it. However after I just installed .7 I can no longer view www.homestarrunner.com - anyone else with that problem?
