<div class="IPBDescription">pure unadulterated awesome</div> I wanted to post this to see how many people on the forums are familiar with or have heard of Nickel Creek. I went to their Pittsburgh concert last night and was completely blown away. I feel completely inadequate at guitar now . . . but in a good way <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> . I think I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. About half of the songs they played we're new, which hopefully means they'll have a new album out soon *prays fervently*. For their encore they unplugged all of their instruments and played three songs completely acoustically. The crowd was completely silent so everyone could hear. I got the shivers.
For those of you that have never heard of them, Nickel creek plays what has been called 'newgrass', a combination of bluegrass, pop, folk, celtic, and a sprinkling of blues. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes acoustic music, (or for that matter, anyone who likes music at all). The funny thing is that they're from southern California.
