    don't know much about your game... but here's a few suggestions

    animals - fish, frogs, and deer can be seen doing "their thing" in the back.. just sublte touches
    Water - obviosly, bubles, splashes and oddities
    Caves - maybe add a cave in the back, with blinking eyes?

    The background is fine and done, but I am having a huge problem animating the waterfalls.
