    I made this huge post about why pulse guns aren't in there, then someone posted before me showing the actual date. Because this is obviously fiction based upon that not-too-far-away date, we'll just keep it that way and say that we don't have new guns because we... are stupid <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Still, if we had guns like that the game would be unequal, nor would it even be a game. It's definitely a better move to keep the "gritty" feeling and keep it a fictional game. That's the reason it was made, anyway.

    <!--QuoteBegin--Revenge+Sep 11 2003, 09:07 PM--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Revenge @ Sep 11 2003, 09:07 PM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Well we know that the <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/footnote3.html' target='_blank'>Spetsergrad Incident</a> occured in 2005, and that Sergeant Haverhill, who was involved in the incident is currently an officer with the TSA who at a guess is nearing the age of 50-60.

    Considering that he joined the Silver Berets at around the same time "you and I were choosing which university to go party at for four years", it wouldn't be too far off the mark to say that he was 18 or 19 when he signed up (we'll say 20 just to keep the math nice and simple). We also know that he has been with the TSA for 10 years at the time of writing the <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/world_marine1.html' target='_blank'>Techtrope article</a> (a year ago, so it'd be 11 years now). This leaves us from the ages of 20 until 40-50 for the Spetsergrad incident to have occured (which was in 2005).

    At the earliest, it would have occured when he was 20 (ignoring for a moment that he still would've been in boot camp at this point), and so 30-40 years later the year would be inbetween 2035 and 2045. At the latest It would have occured while he was 40-50 (ignoring for a moment that he'd probably be to highly ranked and/or old for frontline combat), so 10 years later would be somewhere inbetween 2015 and 2025.

    So now know that the Techtrope article was written inbetween 2015 and 2045, and over a year has passed since then.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    it was meant to be a rhetorical question but....ok

    I would like to see hand grenades.

    As the lv increases, the strength of it doesn't increase, only how many you gain.
    Lv1 Weapons upgrade = 1 fragmentation grenade
    Lv2 Weapons upgrade = 2 fragmentation grenades
    Lv3 Weapons upgrade = 3 fragmentation grenades

    P.S.
    And from what I've heard about 2.1, the bilebomb actually works like it used to from vents and such, so we need hand-grenades more than ever!

    weve been thru nades already, there never gona happen, use a gl if your that far in the game, or ignore them if your early in-game

    You can try to ignore those lerks in vents spore spamming the IP's all you want, but eventually it gets annoying, and it can ultimately lead to the marines loss if not dealt with. Nades early on would help prevent this kind of obnoxious tactic. I don't know if you've noticed, but people seem to be using lamer tactics like this more and more as of late. Besides, g/l is practically useless except in end-game or in the hands of a very skilled player, and it turns the user into an appetizing target for those little skulks. Sure it does a buttload of damage, but if you can't hit anything, and it takes 3 secs for it to detonate, aliens will just run away. One or two grenades per marine might not be as much ammo as the gl, but it's better than being defenseless and holding a heavy gl.
