Problem With Voice Chat

<div class="IPBDescription">Ive had it for a while now</div> Hello.

Ive been having a prolbem with my mike since I started playin on my parents computer.
The problem is this one:

Every time I speak on voice chat, people tell me my mike sounds "scratchy" or **** up, although I bought a new one and the problem hasnt gone away.
I believe that it could be because I transferred half life form my old computer which had no sound to my parents computer which has sound and that in this process somethíng may have been damaged, or that there is an interference from the old setting set by my ex comp.
Some people suggested some console commands, but they didnt work and Ive forgotten them now.
Althogh something strange is that I dont have this problem with firearms(I patched it to 2.8 a while ago)
So what should I do?? reinstall?? repatch NS?? or try some console commands??
You guys know what to do so if you can please help me.
Any help appreciated.

    I had similar problems with voice chat on NS only. $60.00 later with a Telex Digital(USB) Headset my problems were fixed and I now enjoy crystal clear voice. We never could figure out why I was having such problems, but the digital mics don't go through your sound card and their quality is unsurpassed.

    make sure your cmdrate is higher than 30.

    My mic has been spuratic as well. I've been through 3 mic's (I still have to try a digital one) 3 sound cards a complete new system and I still fade in and out and get all garbbaly especially the longer I try to talk the harded it is to understand me. I thought it was my Cable connection but I have a friend on the same connection and he sounds clear. So, first I'll try suggested varible changes, then I drop the dough on a Digital Headset.

    thats funny....i use a crappy stand mic thjat came with my comp and i have no probs!

    Somethign prob got damged durin the copyin....try a fesh install of half-life all together
