<div class="IPBDescription">Slot #4</div> O Moved both mines and the welder to slot 4. This means you can hold your pistol along with one of them. However, you still can't have both mines and a welder.

I can be the grenading, mine placing, pistol shooting crazy marine now.

    Finally. I wonder why it wasn't done earlier? Was it against the devs' intentions, or just not enough time?

    I'm sure the idea was that you'd have a slight trade-off in firepower versus usefullness on the field.


    Unfortionatly, when push came to shove, most people took the pistol over the mines/welder, and this is why you don't see those weapons used too often right now in 2.01...

    It is indeed an interesting change, one that I think may be for the better.

    Keep in mind that because players keep their pistol they will be slowed down slightly more than before, making them slightly more vulnerable.

    LOL speaking of mines, in a server i was just in 2 newbies spamemd mines in 1 spot and when it went off , the explosion was bright redish orange instead of yellow LOL and they asked for water shooters and robot suits or somethhing haha newbs, gotta love em, buy anyhow the new change sounds cool

    Except that mines in one spot are easily visible because they stack on top of one another now, and a single skulk with parasite can take them all out. Onos traps were ridiculous in 2.0.

    No. Bad change. Marines will become too self-sufficient now, which is bad. The whole point of welders is that you have a very useful tool but are significantly more vulnerable.     With that gone...you get to keep your pistol. It's not that big a deal, gameplay wise.

    I'm just hoping thatthe high-priority welder thing's taken care of. It's so annoying running into the action, only to move over a welder and equip it instead of your hmg. Nyargh.

    I think its good for that reason, nobody works as a team as it is unless your under very presicse conditions (Clan game, Regular server, LAN, etc..)
