Yeah, but preferly you should have fun doing it. Small range of swipe = not much fun, kk? That statement is wrong, I have played NS 2.00 from when it came out, perhaps just as much as you. But I have a fps of 15 with 16bit colour in 480*640 and the occasionel lag spike each 2 minute and a mouse which is not very responsive. And I suck, practise doesnt take you anywhere much. But I do know that the 1 kill per 10th death in cs turns to an average of 2 kills per 1 death when I'm playing on my big brothers machine.
You obviously know then that you are handicapped by a **** computer, only you can change that. Practice makes perfect, considering I've been used to the Fade from pt'in 2.0, I would admit I have a headstart on you. But if you practice, you'll be do fine.
The fade changes are by far the most fun addition to 2.0 in my opinion, it takes logical thought and a keen perception of the events going on (also a twitchy autoswitch finger ) in order to get the fade working.
they should still run a bit faster

Zek: I don't think it would affect the highest calibur faders all that much. They're going to get you one way or another. As you say, bad faders won't benefit because they'll try and duke it out with marines (and die). It just means that average faders have an easier time of it.

I dont know, I think the reply had just as much relevance as yours. He was being sarcastic.
It would unbalance because you'd no longer have to blink with any precision. Just get kinda-sorta near a marine and down he goes. I am by no means a flawless shao-lin monk of blink. Especially when I'm fighting multiple marines, I spend a lot of time blinking out and in, trying to set myself up for a good hit. All that will be done away with - with an extended range on swipe, I'd miss with maybe 10% of my blink approaches.

My point was that making things require more of this sort of "skill" isn't particularly intuitive or interesting. For example: 1.04 skulking required a lot of skill, but it wasn't much fun. So they improved it. Playing the game after cutting your fingers off requires a lot of skill, but it's not advisable.
I like the way you inanely accuse me of only answering in order to boost my post count. Nice touch.
Kavasa: I'm not talking about a massive increase, just maybe as much as a skulk's bite. (: I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, because the only way we'd truly find out is if it's ever implemented.
I think the situation is this(and im probably 92.35% wrong):
When I fade, in a usual pub game, I get frustrated a lot when I try to duke it out with marines (1v1 or 1v2). It seems like they will be right in front of you, and when you try to hit em, you just catch air. Now, this is on a good machine, and a fairly low ping (roughly 60ms). I think it usually happens when the marine crouch jumps when your about to hit. Now, with the hitbox'es supposedly fixed in 2.1 (im not a pt so im not sure), it will probably be easier for a fade to hit the marine, so when he does crouch jump, the hitboxes wont go crazily messed up.
It also seems that the fade attack animation is directly related to the place where the fade does damage. what i mean is, they made it so that you only really hit directly in front of you so if your facing the marine directly on, and they move a bit, without you compensating, your probably going to miss him.
Given that i havent really practiced with the fade much, im not that good with it. So the key I think is to figure out where the marine is GOING to crouch jump (cause they ALWAYS do ) and attack there. thats kind of a basic tip, since you always have to do that with online games.
oh, and why complain that people are posting, just to up their post count, when your doing THE SAME THING!!
I believe part of the problem or conflict rather that people seem to be experiencing in this discussion is that too many L337 UBAR players who can make 180 degree turns so they can insta-frag 5 skulks and a gorge in 2 seconds are answering this post. This game should not be designed with only these people in mind. There are people, like myself who are not L337, and will have to get used to the fact that they may never be L337, but want to play this game and have fun as well. What about those people? If a game can be designed with 5% (pulled that statistic out of my rear end) of its player base in mind, then why not design it with another 5% in mind as well.
I mean, basically, what about those of us who don't understand the concept of "bunny-strafe hop compensation", and just want to play the game in a straightforward manner, because they aren't fade gods.
